Nail polish love

Over the last year I've developed an obsession with nail polish. I've accumulated an embarrassing amount of polishes in every color imaginable. This January OPI launched the Nicki Minaj nail polish line. I've been looking forward to it for ages and finally I have almost all of them to myself (and anyone who wants to borrow them of course).
;
(From left to right) Save me, Super bass (which is a crackle), pink Friday, Fly, and Did It on em. The last one is actually a Pirates Of The Caribbean one. My sister just adores potc and had to have at least one from that line lol.

On another occasion I also bought a device called Salon Express. What it does is transfer designs from metal plates onto a rubber stamp. The rubber stamp then goes on your nails and you have a pretty design. I've heard of this technique before, but it was called Konad on Amazon. I figured it was just easier to buy it all at once rather than separately and pay shipping (I bought the kit at a super market).
Here are a close up of a couple available prints. You can choose a larger one like this, that cover almost the entire nail, or smaller ones like those shown in the back.

Shown here are the plate holder, rubber stamp and scraper. The rubber stamp has two sides which are used for various design sizes. The scraper removes the excess nail polish and the holder, well it just holds the plates while you work, lol.

Here is my first attempt and final result. Overall I liked the way it worked, I don't think it came out that bad. It's not as easy as the ad would lead you to believe ( no surprise there), but it is fairly decent. I would recommend cleaning the metal plate after almost every stamp though because the excess nail polish tends to accumulate and transfer onto your nails resulting an a bit of a mess. Overall I would recommend this product because it is inexpensive and if you enjoy doing your nail like I do, chances are you will enjoy it :)

Here are a few links I checked out before I made a decision, check them out of you're interested.

Oh hey look it's Thursday

This week was pretty mundane. Over the weekend we had our first snow storm for the year which was meh imo. I would have preferred none, but it's January and I live in NY so snow is to be expected. I do have one thing to look forward to though, I'm going to see A Day to Remember and Rise Against in concert next Monday. GOD I'm so pumped I bought these tickets moths ago and it's finally time, yay! Any way lets get on with the show!

Meh...
So pretty, I really don't know why I love birdcages so much.
Gotta love Star Wars fan art <3

And finally my brand new Hello kitty sneakers. God I love them. I saw them once before inline and when I saw them again in store I just had to buy them...I have a problem...

Shoe woes

So I bought a pair of Blowfish boots from TJ Maxx in early December. I loved them and they were super amazing because not only were they cheap, but they were also fur lined (faux fur). Anyway I was super happy with them untill about a week ago when they started to fall apart! I've only had them a month and they're already falling apart? Not cool at all. The quality seemed to be fine when I bought them and they're really comfortable, but I'm still disapointed. I took some pictures of them long before they started to fall apart.
It's the left boot ( the one closest to the camera) that has the worst problem. The seam of the boot is coming apart from the rest of the shoe, leaving a giant gap. I'm glad I didn't pay full price because if I had I would be fuming right now.
The fake fur on the inside.
                                                                    Blowfish label.

The rest of the shoe seems to be ok, it's just in the front where the shoe meets the plastic seam. It's just ripping and spreading to the othe side of the shoe now. I'm going to try and glue them together, but I doubt they'll ever be the same. It's a shame really, they really seemed like such a fine pair of shoes too.

lol thursday

Welp it's Thursday again, so here's the weekly collection of post from my Tumblr that I found funny.
Aww poor guy. I'd give him a hug if y'know it wouldn't kill me.
This is so true. I probably would hurt myself.
                                                                   Hahaha very clever.

And holy crap I want this. Not funny at all. THIS NEEDS TO BE MINE.

Well that's all for now, peace.

Pets, pets, pets

As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, my friend Sally recently got a pug puppy. Frankie is so sweet and adorable it's really ridiculous, so I've decided to post a couple pics of her.
Here's the beauty here, look at that face! I took this picture the day we all went to get her.
Also the day we got her. They grow up so fast.
Not Frankie, but my dog Iris she needs some love too.
Also Iris in my Betsey Johnson bag. I didn't realize how large it was when I bought it. You can imagine my surprise when I found that I could fit my dog in it. She's such a good sport <3
And here's the baby kitten my neighbor brought over yesterday. I've never seen something so small, not even my friends rats were this size, no joke. It's not weened yet so it's not mine yet, but here's hoping.

Well that's about it for now. Sorry I had to do the whole "proud mama" post, but these animals are just far too cute and I couldn't help it <3

Busy bee

This past month was a ridiculous affair. Between Christmas and work I barley had time for myself! Let me make a quick update on what's been going on with my life.

  • My friend Sally got a pug puppy and oh dear lord that thing is cute! Her name is Frankie, god I love pugs <3
  • I've been looking for a kitten, like hardcore and have yet to adopt. All of my plans seem to fall through. I never knew trying to adopt would be this hard! Luckily my neighbor found some abandoned just born kittens which could soon be mine, but we'll have to wait and see :)
  • I beat both batman games, ( Arkham city and asylum), let's just say they were AMAZING.
  • I have made a New years resolution to play more video games, especially the older games which I once looked over. So far I've only finished Batman Arkham asylum, but I'm almost done with L.A. Noire then I'm on to the next one.
  • Next ones being Skyrim ( not old) and the first Assasin's creed (way old).

Well that's it for now. My Christmas was excellent, I got everything that I ever could have asked for. My favorite had to have been the nutcracker that I got to paint myself. The little things really make me happy :)

So sick!

I feel soooo sick! I don't really know what I have, but I'm visiting a doctor to get myself checked out. It's a cross between a cold and lord knows what. I hope it's nothing serious. Anyway i finally got batteries for my camera and started to mess around with some of the settings. Since it's Christmastime I figured I'd take a couple pics of the decorations in my room. On my desk are some adorable lights I purchased in Boarders before it closed at my local mall. It's battery powered and has four different shapes.
Here's what it looks like on my desk. You can see one of my dozens of nutcracker which I'll show in a later post. Also you can see Hello kitty and cows, the main theme of my room lol.

I'm missing a picture of Santa, which is a shame cause he's my favorite one. Goodness I hope I feel better soon, I don't do well with the whole resting thing :P
